Soon you will be able to check your email while eating a Big Mac.
McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Ltd. announced Wednesday it plans to roll out free and unlimited wireless internet access at more than 1,000 restaurants across the country.
More than 90% of the company’s approximately 1,400 locations will offer the new service by the end of May, McDonald’s said in a statement.
The company is partnering with Bell Mobility, which already offers Wi-Fi hotspots at more than 750 Starbucks Corp. cafes in Canada.
The move to offer free internet access seems to align with the fast-food company’s philosophy.
“Providing value and convenience is what we’re all about,” said Joel Yashinsky, vice-president of marketing for McDonald’s.
Patrons will be able to use the Wi-Fi with no purchase, username or password.
