The latest extracts from Sarah Palin's daughter's memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, reveal tension between the families of the former running mates.
Ms Palin, 20, wrote the first time she met Meghan McCain she "ignored us during the entire visit", ABC News reported.

"Oh, the complaining."

She said Mr McCain's wife, Cindy, held herself "like royalty"."I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," she wrote.
Mrs McCain was also said to ask whether she could be a godmother to Ms Palin's unborn baby.

"I had just met her and I wondered why she wanted any type of guardianship over my child."Palin had boy Tripp, now two, with her former boyfriend Levi Johnston.
Meghan McCain responded to Ms Palin's comments on Twitter by posting a 2008 YouTube clip of herself and Piper Palin, then eight, getting excited about their parents' campaign.
"I am so proud that this is my father's choice for vice-president," she said at the time.
Sarah Palin also took to Twitter to give her review of her daughter's memoir.
"Bristol's Book: Shocking; Refreshing; Honest; INSPIRING! Perfect. Plus 'Not Afraid of Life' gives insight into how media can drive false narrative."
"Spot on! (& she's courageous to write what she wrote, warning about decisions/consequences in encouraging way, esp for teens!)"
In excerpts from her book released earlier this week, Bristol Palin revealed how she lost her virginity to boyfriend Levi Johnston on a camping trip after getting drunk for the first time on too many wine coolers.
