Qaim urges precautionary moves before monsoon

SUKKUR: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the flood water is fast raging this year as it triggered devastation last year, urging on the immediate need for precautionary arrangements before monsoon, Geo News reported.

He said the flood tides would swim through Sukkur Barrage as did last year.

The CM was talking to media at Sukkur airport before flying to his native district Kharipur.

He said it is necessary to remove the encroachments alongside the security bund of Sukkur district, warning that the residents of ‘Bunderwal’ should clear off the area otherwise the administration is all poised to take action.

CM informed that the repair work of all bunds across Sindh province, which received damages during last year’s floods, would be finished latest by June 30.

The floodwater is fast raging this year as did last year, he added.
