New mouse species found in Brazil

A new species of mouse has been discovered in Brazil, experts say.
The Cerradomys goytaca (or Goytaca mouse) was located in the Restinga de Jerutiba National Park in Rio de Janeiro state, the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation said on Tuesday.
Its scientific name was selected by researchers at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
The name of the mostly tree-dwelling rodent comes from that of a local indigenous people, the Goytacazes, the institute said.
