Sunday Socials - Range Rover Evoque launches in Melbourne

Sunday Socials - Range Rover Evoque launches in Melbourne
Over the last year Range Rover has been slowly launching its latest, game changing car, the Evoque, with a series of events in global capitals. The reason behind this is that the Evoque is the first car by the brand to be designed with city driving in mind. Two months ago in New York guests were treated to a Ceelo Green concert, in Paris Juliette Lewis boogied down on a boat (I was there, it was a sweaty, amazing floating fluro disco), while last year in Sydney, all sorts of shenanigans took place.

Now Range Rover is nearing the end of its cosmopolitan party circuit, but before calling curtains, the Evoque paid a visit to Melbourne, rolling into an utterly unrecognisable Thousand Pound Bend, which had been transformed with white cubes; glowing blue street maps projected across the walls.

Present at the event were Range Rover 'City Shaper' ambassadors Sarah Jane Clark and Heidi Middleton of Sass and Bide, Mia Friedman, Peter Evans and Range Rover's newest spokesmodel, Jennifer Hawkins, who wowed in white Toni Maticevski with pop-coral lips. Guests sipped  fine wines and champagne, whilst noshing on some rather excellent canapes, before the cars were revealed. After that the party turned to auto-talk with the Evoque's eye-like headlights proving to be a particular conversation starter.

Despite being  a party down a laneway, with buskers and graph artists working their magic as guests wandered in, it was still a considerably more glamorous affair than Melbourne is used to, and all the better for it.
